So cool. It really does look like a lady praying in a grotto! At first glance I thought the Sagrada Familia had frozen.
Well done,
KEVIN

And my Project 52 is like sandbox?
That really is a great capture. I love that you saw that and captured it. It's truly unique.
Hi Hasso, is this inside a cave?
you have captured the detail very well, and the eye is immediatley drawn to the "lady" well done
No it is not in the cave. Its nearby waterfall. But it looks...
Firstly - I have removed the post that had invaded this thread (the person using it to test posting an image).
Secondly - I find this an intriguing image. I would like to have seen it posted at 1200 or 1500 pixel size, so that we could see it larger in the lightroom.
There is an amazing amount of detail in terms of lines, shapes and texture that can be explored in the picture. I do not know if you arrived at this location just as the light was correct for the capture or whether you had planned to be there at that time, or had to wait until the light was right. But whichever it was, you got it perfectly.
This is an image that could be studied for hours and more and more detail would be revealed.
My goal was to take photos from waterfall (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=1&theater), but there was "wonderland". Also sun was little behind of clouds and that gave "softbox" effect. I saw her immediately. With Mir1b 37mm lens the f16 is minimum, maybe f22...and more can give more textures but. One minus for me is the right corner (at 2 clock). The ice wall is like broken, but I wanted that she is in the middle of the picture. I used also flash to fill direct light "for more textures". I have also pictures with 135mm from her, but there are only she and they aren't so magic.
Beautifully captured. The lighting is perfect and great detail. The woman was apparent to me immediately.
good capture
Hi Hasso,
The Raybow is a very nice image... how did you release the shutter for that?
It must have there only for a split second!
Nice photos...
First off all, I was in trout fishing, but storm game in. So I set my camera up. Remote control (400pics), tripod and that was it. I captured over 300 pictures and 4-5 was with ray.
I like the colors and the feel. I like the lighting. What I don't see is much of a focus to the composition. That said, I think it's better than I could do. I'm looking forward to future posts.

About the ice photo:
I like this photo. Love the ice and cold! Looks like when people post, "I see Jesus" and indeed, I see a man in robes, full beard, and a sheep to his left. Is he holding a hooked cane? A shepherd, maybe? LOL! Interesting shot. I would try putting a darker vignette around the edges, and maybe do this: Filter, Render, lighting effects, omni and just a slight lightening of the "person" in the photo to draw attention to it.
Yes in ps everything can be done...but is it anymore photography, as all are changed in post processing. I want to capture the moment, and reproduce it naturally as it is possible. Of course, I have also highly processed works, but they aren't my favorites. And with old school manual lenses, I can(read I must learn) learn nice things...one really good thing is that, that metering and shake reduction works perfectly on p k20d with old school lenses.
Even Ansel Adams "post processed" but he used the darkroom. And other famous photographers also used the darkroom to burn, dodge, sharpen, blur, add vignette. I have used an enlarger in a darkroom and processed B&W photos myself, and nothing I suggested to you is any different than what I could have done in there. So yes, I do consider this photography. But it is a matter of opinion and choice. And I respect your personal preferences.Yes in ps everything can be done...but is it anymore photography, as all are changed in post processing.
To think that all this can only water. Sometimes it is gas, sometimes liquid...You can see this when weather is really cold. Also You need a waterfall and water vapor. If temperature is like -25C, then vapor gets in ice very quickly and result is pure art of nature.
Tech: S-1/180, F16, ISO-100. C P20D-manual mode, lens Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm, flash Pentax Asahi AF240Z, selfmade macro tube 25mm(0,9842inch). Between object and flash was also one A4 paper used.
