another early morning callout.this time Blakeney and as i walk around the quay taking a few shots.a couple were moaning that they couldn't get to the bulletin board because of the high tide.and what inconvenience it was.so is it worth getting wet feet just to see whats on

One suggestion/question. Is that white post on the left a useful or distracting part of the image? What do you think it looks like if you make it a 5:4 ratio image using the existing right, top and bottom and cropping at the left?

It's one alternative interpretation.

But, apart from that ............. Wonderful tones. The textures (beach and water) are, for me, just right. The lines (is a harbour wall or dyke?) on the right and that curve at the front just left of centre and then the land at the back left, all work really well together to take us back through the image.

Tell them to buy binoculars for this situation. Or mount a long lens on your camera.

I'm not a fan of this type of image but I respect that you executed it well. I wouldn't change the aspect ratio to get rid of the white pole. I would digitally remove it. Consider also removing the clouds. For me, the gradation of the plain sky is a major strength of this image and I hate to see it interrupted by the few clouds near the horizon.

i was in two minds about the white post.but i felt at the time that it was useful.now after printing a copy i think your right its more of a distraction.and i like mike's suggestion a about the clouds as its was something i hadn't considered.
anyway another version and i decided to try a different crop as well
