Have You smelled a dandelion lately??

The innocence of childhood when a dandelion smells as sweet as a rose.

Krisztina - There are a lot of images going through the CiC forum each day. That, in itself, is one explanation for why a number of those images don't get a lot of comments. I don't think it has anything to do with the quality of the work.

But the other, and I would say more important, issue is that you don't actually ask for C & C. People find it much easier to give constructive feedback if they have some idea of what you were trying to do and what it is that you'd like feedback on.

In order to encourage others to provide feedback, can I suggest you have a read of this thread - How to Get Effective Feedback for your Posted Images. This provides a very helpful guide.

    Hi Krisztina,

You have good exposure levels on the face, but the side of the head and shoulder facing the sun is well blown and if you shot RAW, this might be toned down somewhat.

I like the panel layout and the choice of which shot is in which panel.
I did wonder whether the lower right panel might be better with the subject just a little further to the right.

    Cheers,

something I know I need to invest in!! My son is 16 months old and I was just following him around that morning and he just did not stand still and smell a dandelion in perfect lighting :P
Thank you, Dave for your suggestions!!

    Hi, Kristztina,

I feel your pain. I have also experienced frustration at times with the lack of comment response, but I find no consistency in it to draw any conclusions.
Sometimes the first 50 viewers have nary a word to say, then 10 people will say how much they like it, or make really helpful suggestions. Sometimes the shots I really like just drop moribund off the "Latest Threads" list, and others that I was very lukewarm about get an enthusiastic reception. It's a bit of a crap shoot.

I sometimes enter a shot into a mini-comp just to see if ANY body likes it, but with no feedback I dont learn anything. So I just float them in a thread from time to time, and satisfy myself with being grateful when someone does take the time to respond. Hang in there, this is still the best photography learning forum on the web.

    Kevin
