Hi Harmon,
Be very aware of getting the focus point right. With humans as well as animals it is always best to have sharp focus in the eye area. In this case you would like to have the head sharp in focus.
Nice colours with a good composition. You can also consider getting in closer to the turtle.
Play around with different crops and see the results.
