Very evocative. And yes I can feel the silence. I like that you chose black and white as it simplifies the image and enhances the feeling of quiet and solitude. The ripples on the still water are great.
Perhaps try darkening the sky just a fraction . You might bring up the water as a consequence and perhaps pull some more cloud detail if you did. A minor quibble however

I can feel the silence. One suggestion is to clone out the bright light and its reflection near the right side of the image.
Thank you Donald and Trevor for your suggestions and comments. Here is an attempt at darkening the sky in lr4. Does it look more "smudgy"?
