I actually wouldn't be able to know from these images whether they're backlit except that when shooting leaves above you, they are almost always backlit because they are between you and the sun.

Most important, these images don't exhibit the classic qualities of a backlit image displayed in the other images in the thread. So, don't worry about the labels; instead, know where the light is coming from and use that information to make beautiful images.

    Hi Mike,

That means that I did not manage to do it well. I thought I had because I can see a rim of light around the edges of the leaves... And also of course because I could see where the sun was shining

Mike, Thank you for letting me know.

    1st image
Exp -24 Highlights -29 W+5 B-29 Plus I lifted the bottom of the curves tool upwards a bit.

    In the 2nd image Exp. -60 W+2 B-17

Here is a tight crop (Sharpened in LR 25% and .3 100% Mask in Elements)

And no sharpening at all in LR or after downsizing to make sure I did not create that line around the leaf...

Anyway, I have been enjoying viewing all the images in this thread so I hope it will continue. I will post a back lit photo one day.
