Susan, having spent a career surrounded by ropes I certainly appreciate this series.

You have captured the lighting well and I find the images interesting and pleasing.

Almost abstract images ... and all the better for it.

Great vision to see the photographic possibilities and they have turned out very successfully.

Grahame - I'm glad you enjoyed them - thanks for viewing and commenting.

Donald - Thanks for your kind words.

I wasn't sure anyone else would see something of interest in these.

I like #2 the best and would love to see it in B&W as it appears to be a good subject for that.

The lighting and detail is very good. They might look nice in black and white.

    Re: Rope

Hi Susan. I also like ropes. One thing I would try with all of these images is to create a small crop and go exploring. You might discover that you have some interesting images within your already interesting images. I think especially 3 might have some surprises for you

Jack and Ali - thanks much for commenting and here you go with a monochrome treatment:

I think the last one might be a bit busy for monochrome - the different colors help to make the image more understandable...

Nandakumar - thanks for the comment.

Karm - I agree about the surprises - I had a ball taking the pictures. Thanks for your comments.

Hi Susan. I like these images in BW. I especially think it helps your first two images.

    Hi Susan,
Yup, I like #2 in B&W much better. It has a timeless look. Very nice.

    Hi Susan

I agree that the 3rd one is better in colour, but the other 2 are better in B&W. I never can get ropes to look the way I want, so was highly appreciative of your pics.

    Re: Rope

Karm, Jack, and Pania - thanks - I'm glad the B&Ws are pleasing.

And thanks to Jack and Ali for the suggestion - it hadn't even occurred to me and it gave me a chance to play with my Silver Efex Pro software. I used the Antique Plate 1 preset for the brownish overtones that I thought went well with ropes.
