Chris, congratulations on your new gear. I like the golden color of the leaves and the DOF. Nicely done.
I'll check and see if I have any leaf shots and post if I do.

Dried out leaves and flowers become addictive--there is a lot of interesting detail
I like the second better. The shapes and composition are nicer. However, I think there are two issues. One is that the exposure seems too bright. The second is that the background is the same color, so you haven't managed to isolate the beautiful leaves.
The latter is really hard to avoid. Backgrounds are often too close, hence not blurred enough, or a similar color. For those reasons, I often bring them inside and photograph them under controlled conditions, where you can adjust the lighting and background as you want.
Nice one Terry. Looks like it might be submerged in water. I have one very similar which I'm posting. Having it under water and controlling the background like Dan has mentioned is difficult to manage. I will have to try your method, Dan, of bringing them inside under controlled conditions.
Chris, thanks for starting the thread. Maybe others will chirp in.

Yep, definitely under water with some great rich colors. The movement of the water really adds to the effect and makes the colors more dynamic (at least to me). Thanks for posting, Terry.

Paul, I have to say that shot looks like it was worth whatever you paid in processing. Very delicate color and detail.

Thanks for the responses and contribution s everyone! I agree, dead leaves and similar objects are addicting because they present such an array of textures and shapes.
@L.Paul - nice shot with the bronica, I have used that same camera before and now have a Mamiya RB67 I use for home cooked B&W occasionally, love medium format!
@Dan.K - all good observations, I've thought of collecting various objects like seed pods and such and shooting them under more controlled lighting and against a black background as still lifes, that's just a very different endeavor. Making do with natural light and shooting somewhat extemporaneously is a lot of fun though. I need more tools for modifying light with this camera, like flash or ND or polarizing filters.
Gorgeous shot, the Velvia really brings out the colour and the contrast makes it pop so well.
Hi Jon I would have to like the impact and tones in the yellow leaf on the brown background. I would go for a tighter crop but that maybe the distant Scot in me wanting to be stingy with film.
I like most of the images in this thread....but is it proper make somebody's thread a contributory without his asking for the same?
Regards
It was asked for in the OP Nandakumar.
Sorry for the confusion - I meant for this to be a thread for people to contribute to rather than one seeking comment strictly on my images. I appreciate your concern that the thread was being hijacked though.
My deep deep regrets for that ; i wonder how i missed that being stated.... i would love to join then...let me check for one
