Trees in a morning fog

Foggy yesterday, so I went for an early morning hunt for trees. Here's a few. Your thoughts and suggestions sought and appreciated. Always grateful to see other edits.

They are nice. Just the right amount of mist and a nice glow from the sun. Nice work.

All three are very nice but the second is my favorite. I think the fact that the sun is not visible really enhances the photo.

I live beside a golf course- it's a nice place for tree hunting because the tree have to be spread out and are nicely isolated from their backgrounds.

All very nice, but I agree with Ali--I like #1 the best. I think it is the most interesting of the three compositionally.

Thanks, guys. #1 was my strong favorite because of the convergence of the foreground triangle and the path with its vanishing point leading toward the light. I left a lot of foreground to position the edges of the stream and the path at the lower corners of the frame. I could accomplish the same going a little higher, but that would generate a strong pano crop, and I rarely like pano aspect ratios. I'm curious if others have any thoughts on this.

Lovely images, I think the first is a standout. I briefly played with the full size image in Lightbox moving the image down eliminating some of the foreground. I think if you bring the sun more to the middle third of the image eliminating some foreground it becomes magical. Possibly a 16x9 or 3x1 crop. Nice rendering, just beautiful.

Thanks, Joe. I'll have a play with it but those more horizontal crops usually rubs my fur the wrong direction. But I'll certainly have a look! Thanks for the suggestion.

Glad you like it. I'd LOVE to isolate that tree alone, I just didn't think I could isolate it to my satisfaction without the residual background just looking like unwanted clutter. If you have a minute, I'd love to see what you have in mind.

This is as far as I can go without nausea. . Not sure how I feel about sacrificing the tree on the left. To keep it in gives me pano vertigo.

The first image for me as well Kevin and the first of your re edits is a further improvement in my eyes. I know you will hate to lose that interestingly shaped tree on the LHS but it does make for a stronger comp overall (IMHO).

All three are fantastic images! Any particular reason you shot them at such a small aperture? Would something like f/8 or f/11 not have worked?
