very nice lighting Antonio
I like it
Nice to see your work again..!
How are you Nicola ?
This is natural light from a window. The glass has a plastic on it to reduce the entering light which make it to disperse a lot.
the simplest way is often the better..
as well as natural light is about always my preferred
I'm fine thanks, just very busy
I hope you too...
I am not busy in terms of professional work as I am retired now...
However, I do make a lot of photography, investigating and trying to grow.
Not that I photograph much but I work a lot on the computer trying to refine the images.
Awesome!
( The wide /bright white frame seems distracting. just me. )
Thank you for commenting
The white area (canvas) is to frame the image and to hold it in your hand without touching the image itself.
It also serves to define my style.
The upper text is the name of the project (not in this one) and the lower one is to specify the place or anything else.
Wonderful lighting and an awesome portrait of a distinguished looking educator (at least I assume he is by the word, professor).
Sergio
Oh I have seen you in Facebook somewhere
I do not go to Forums so often as before. I would like very much to be recognized as Fineart photographer and be represented by a gallery. I am not a humble guy am I ?? LOL
Coincidences are terrible. Perhaps you have thought of me because you are in Europe ?!... Am I mistaken ?
Cheers !
Oh ! I have been published in Silvershotz after it's death !!!! I mean on in pdf format. But something else is on the way !
Facebook - I think I've heard of that! (pretty much given up on it to be honest)
Definitely!I do not go to Forums so often as before. I would like very much to be recognized as Fineart photographer and be represented by a gallery. I am not a humble guy am I ?? LOL
Sadly, yes - you are mistaken. I've only been out of New Zealand once in my life -- and that was to Australia for 4 days about 20 years ago!)Coincidences are terrible. Perhaps you have thought of me because you are in Europe ?!... Am I mistaken ?
Well done! I've downloaded it and will look forward to reading through it.Oh ! I have been published in Silvershotz after it's death !!!! I mean on in pdf format. But something else is on the way !
Thank you John
Antonio, excellent.
I like the subject's look, slightly curious or perhaps waiting a response to a question?
Regarding the framing, for me, the titles are not distracting, nor the size of your white border.
I find it makes for a "harmonious whole".
regards,
James
Another wonderful portrait. I just love the series.
Thank you James.
You know, I only use four crop proportions ( I mean 1/1; 2/5 rarely; 3/4 and 3/5; all horizontal or vertical ) and I always use the A size (A5; A4; A3 and A3+ because of the FineArt paper I use) because I want everything coherent and standardized as much as it can be.
Using LR it is easy after a few hours of work to build the necessary templates.
I use always the same combo EPSON R3000+Ilford Fine Art Gold Fiber Silk+original inks (!!)+calibrated 27"Apple and most of the times - yes, most of the times - I get what I visualize and want.
Sometimes it happens that the prints are not as I like. I cry, clean my tears and through them away to the bin, the garbage thing !
In fact when I photograph my "Human subjects" I always try to ask something, to talk to them. It happens that I ask something silly as I must be concentrated on focusing (I give a very strong importance to this) and framing.
And yes, he was telling me something which I can't remember...
Thank you Mike So, you have been looking at my site. What do you feel about the "Work" project ?
Thank you all for the comments.
Speaking of crops Antonio, do you feel that the image may benefit by having slightly less space at the top and to the left, even if it does move the gentleman's left eye (camera right) slightly off the rule of thirds?
The more I look at it, the more I wonder if all of the dark area that it creates unbalances the image slightly, and doesn't contain enough detail to justify the amount of real estate that it consumes.
Just a thought!
I don't remember whether I looked at your site, Antonio. I do remember, though, when you first told us about this project quite awhile ago and I have enjoyed following each of your posts about it.
