My first impression was - too dark. However, I like the deep reds against the almost black background. The thorns are a bit of mystry though. May I suggest either get rid of them or bring up enough detail to see what they are. Otherwise, I quite like it, it is a pleasing image.

I like it very much, the blood red of the leaves and the thorns, I think it would be a great image for Easter, if a person were Christian, the black of death, the blood red of the leaves and the thorns for the crown of Christ. I am of the Christian faith, but not big on going to church, but that it the image that hit me.

    Cheers: Allan

I like it, Nandakumar. I like the warm glow of the red on the leaves and the dark background. There is a softness, but I find it pleasing. The thorns are interesting growing amongst the leaves intermingled as they are. Very symbolic in a lot of ways.

Very appealing, Nandakumar. Really nice. It looks rich and dynamic in transmitted light (on screen) and I like to look at it. But I wonder how it would look reflecting light? Maybe less exciting? Is there a rule of thumb or general principle bearing on what sorts of images are preferable on screen vs. print or vice versa? And beyond that – would you change this, and if so, how, for a print?

Mark , thank you very much; personally i always like images in transmitted light; i leave the other question to wiser persons visiting this thread to answer; i am not sure whether there is a rule at hand for selecting images to be printed
