What do I do if I like a certain photo or post?

I am a newbie in this forums as you might see...I am still feeling my way around. My new curiousity bugs me to ask where I can find the 'like' button in a post? Anyone? Does every post have a 'like' button?

Hi Isabel,

Some forums have this feature enabled, some don't. For those that do, just hover your mouse around the bottom right-hand area of the post, and click the "Mark as Helpful" link

Colin, following Isabel's post, can you say why "like" becomes "helpful" after one clicks the button? I can surely like things that aren't helpful and vice versa

In short, it was originally intended as a mechanism for use to identify and promote truly helpful posts, and then Facebook came along and all that changed ...

Being a moderator, I tend to use it for helpful posts, but occasionally also because I like something; e.g. a photo* or a humorous addition to a thread

* that said, it would often be more helpful to the photographer if the "liker" had the time to actually provide a reply which says why they like it

As you can see, sometimes even asking a question can be helpful, because it is probably one that arises a lot, but few ask and then it gives us a chance to answer it

A whole load of folks seem to have liked, (or found helpful), almost every one of the posts in this thread. Or maybe they just wanted to test it.
