Birds-I-View

Is a local rescue group for hundreds of birds, including some Macaws. Most of the larger birds can be let out of their cages outdoors when the weather permits, but because their wings are clipped, the can’t fly up and away.

Because their wings are clipped and the backgrounds at the compound are not very photogenic, I did primarily outdoor portraits.

Thank you for the kind comments, Otávio. One thing I like about most Macaws is that they tend to be rich in multiple colors and fairly vivid.

They really do. Besides that, they tend to allow a close approach, making close up shots posible (although you'd better keep your fingers at a safe distance from their beaks). I like to photograph them too.
