    Evensong

Rain, warm and fog today, as opposed to cold and snow. I tried to capture the flow of the fog this evening, in one of the valleys across the Ohio River. I processed with in CS5 with Nik filters to bring in the winter warmth. I dodged the fog a bit so it did not look dirty.

I was also intrigued as to how the fog flowed down the valleys.

Please tell me what you think?

That is beautiful, Marie...I like the fog though. You are lucky to have shot this.

What a great opportunity for a shot! I seems a bit washed out to me; have you looked at adding a bit more "punch" to see how that works out. I might be tempted to crank up the "clarity" and "saturation" settings to bring out the leaf colours a bit more. A bit of an "s-curve" would give the shot more "pop" and I would probably play with the luminance values for the reds, oranges and yellows, and perhaps the blue settings as well

    Thank, Manfred for your commentary,

This picture was essentially a monotone. Let me go back to my desktop and I will post the original.

This is my unprocessed, saved from RAW image. Please feel free to edit my image.

It is full winter here, so no leaves on trees.

Hi Marie - I had a quick look at the jpeg; and there really isn't much that I can do with it. When I first saw your image, it looked like there were fall colours in it, but looking at the original with the blue overtones, I suspect some of the impact was brought out by your PP work on the RAW file.

Marie, apart from the bluish tones I like the original better. To me the scene looks better with the houses at the bottom and the bare trees. It feels like I am there absorbing the scenery myself amongst those trees. When David teach me how to remove the blue from my doggie, I will appreciate this shot more...

    Hi Marie!

After gazing upon your photo and your monotone observation I thought maybe…

…anyway, just a Theory and I didn’t attempt to duplicate your original crop!

Thank you, Isabel for your commentary. The original is indeed quite blue, and you are right. It needs some PP to take care of that.

Terry, your black and white treatment is interesting. I will consider it. Thank you.
