First Shot in the Wild
This is the first wildlife shot I've ever taken actually in the wild. Well, I guess if you consider Cades Cove "the wild."

There is some out of focus foliage between you and your subject. But that is often the case with 'real life shots'. Not a sufficient problem though.
And possibly there is a slightly bright spot behind the head; but once again, not a serious fault.
So all in all, this has worked well.

Cades qualifies as well as any other park/reserve without fences. You did good for a first shot. I like the grass in the mouth. The lighting looks a bit odd with the buck's head surrounded by a noticeably lighter area. If it was intentional vignette it is a bit overdone.
