    Taking a bow

After the ice storm we had a few days ago, these pine trees were bending down over the side of the road. I never saw this happen before.
Buy the end of the day, after everything was thawed out, they had straightened up again.

Nice shot Kris - it looks fortunate that there are no power lines on that side of the road for the trees to damage. That scene is all to familiar up this way.

Birch trees seem to be particularly susceptible to ice and if there is a large amount of freezing rain weighing them down and bending them over, the damage is permanent and the trees don't bounce back.

Guess for us this was really very unusual. I may never have a chance to take a picture like this again.

We have the same kind of freezing conditions vowing trees on our deck and down the basement's area doors so when this happens, hubby and sonny boy go out there in freezing conditions to get the ice off the firs. We put those trees to act as a sound barrier on our property. My job is to let the dogs out so they can bark their heads off while the men do their job. (and to prepare some hot soups and warm towels for when they come in from the cold).

Your shot is indeed very nice sharp...I love the composition very much.

I'm sure glad this doesn't happen on a regular basis - but when it does, it gives some nice photo opportunities.
This was taken 2 or 3 days ago - and today I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt!

I doesn't look like that anymore - only lasted a few hours, and I got lucky I had to go that route when I did.
Right time, right place - and the camera in the car!
