Broken Fence
Getting up early and walking just a few steps I found this fence with a beautiful setting... just took some pictures and then - hurry hurry, I had to run back and get the kids ready for school!

Re: Broken Fence
Briggite, great shot! My one suggestion would be to see if you could clone out the purple reflections lower left of center. Otherwise I really like the image.

Re: Broken Fence
Thanks, Jack. I actually like the reflections, though it isn't professional. Greetings from Germany

Re: Broken Fence
There is a certain interesting element to the reflections. And greetings from the U.S. and welcome to CiC!

Re: Broken Fence
Wonderful composition! Also consider eliminating about half of the foreground.
I assume the purple is an attempt to emulate flare. I wouldn't know how to do it any better. For that reason, I wouldn't do it, as it detracts from the photo.

Re: Broken Fence
Welcome to CIC Brigitte,I loved the composition and coloursI would crop the image from bottom to the top of the reflections to get a better composition .

Re: Broken Fence
What a great image! Outstanding; the purple flare, may be removed for its non sympathetic attitude with the rest of the image; the light blue of the left top corner is not a distraction though

Re: Broken Fence
Thanks Jack, Mike, Binnur and Nandakumar... I really feel received warm here, though my doubts if I understand everything correctly sometimes makes me a bit uncomfortable. Thanks also for the criticisms, gives me more clearness and affirmation. You all come across as helpful nice people
Not sure about how to clone out the reflections, tried it but still there are slight traces which in my view appear even more after removing the intensive ones. Please have a look after cutting, the result is this:

Re: Broken Fence
Beautiful composition, Brigitte, I wish I had fence like that to photograph.
I think you have cropped too much off the bottom in the 2nd edit. I think it needs the darker tones in the foreground. The lens flare doesn't bother me that much.

Re: Broken Fence
I prefer your first image. I can accept the flare (the word I was looking for), it adds a certain element to the image. Also I think the additional foreground (as in your first image) adds something to the image. All in all, I would go with the first image. Great shot for your first post, you have a lot to live up to now :-)

Re: Broken Fence
Wow! Fantastic shot! I like the first one better. The grass leads the eye up to the sun and the fence is darker, leaving more of a silhouette.

Re: Broken Fence
The second one works by far the best for me. Much more atmospheric than 99% of my images. Congratulations!

Re: Broken Fence
Brigitte ,after seeing the cropped one all I can say is that they can not be compared to each other because they are both good and they both can be kept as different photographs.I agree with Greg that you need a bit darker tones in the foreground of #2 and I think that can be done with PP( if you are new to PP like I'm,you can always do it later when you get more experienced)

Re: Broken Fence
Great capture - I like them both with and without flare - so there's me trying to sit on that fence....ouch.

Re: Broken Fence
Hi Brigette,
What a great scene for capturing in different lighting conditions. I have to say I can't make my mind up which is the better of the two, they are both fine.
