Interesting series John. No 1 fascinates me as to the reason for constructing such a small building from such large diameter logs and the door having the two bolts on the outside?

    Hi Grahame,

Beyond the fence is a bear enclosure so I believe this is an entry way for the animal handlers.

Ah...now I understand...I keep going back to the first shot and try to make sense of what the structure is/was. It must have been a misty morning when you took this shot. With #2 it is a beautiful WoW shot. Love it. I like #3 too...I love the series. Period.

    Isabel,

Thanks for the comments. Yes, it was a very foggy morning that didn't burn off the entire day.

The first two are my favorites. Really nice colors!

In the second image, there are a lot of crops and compositions that would work well. As an example, I would crop the top and sides to eliminate everything pertaining to the large flat part of the structure. Doing so places greater emphasis on looking through the circular opening to view the distant building. If you can return to the scene, it would be ideal to capture it with more diffused light so the shadows would be softer, though I realize we don't always have the luxury of being able to wait for ideal light.
