A Romp In The Surf
This is an attempt to get an action shot of the kids having fun.

Nice shot, Chuck. I shot a bunch of these recently myself- I found the lower I held the camera, the more impact the shot generally had, and with several of my favorites, I literally placed the camera on the sand and angled it up- it's a perspective of kids adults just don't get very often, as we are always looking down on them.

Kevin, thanks for the tip. In this case I couldn't get down to the water. I was sitting a a wall and the water was coming nearly to the base. Next time I will get down low and then look for someone to help me up.

One shoe off, one shoe on! Smile on!
The image isn't an award-winner but it's most definitely a keeper.

Re: A Romp In The Surf
Uh-oh. Missing a shoe. Nice shot. I second the recommendation to try for low angles. I rarely shoot people at all. Last summer at the beach with in-laws I sat on the sand and shot their 2 and 4 year old kids. I figured if eye level works for critters, why not kids. Everyone seemed to love the shots and commented on how different they were. It wasn't due to gear as I was shooting a Nikon V1 and kit lens. So I guess the angle worked.
