    After ANZAC Day

Friday was ANZAC Day, a day when we commemorate all those who fought for our country. I didn't attend any of the ceremonies as it was raining but I hoped to capture something of the mood - or at least how I feel about it - with these two images taken yesterday afternoon. C&C welcome.

Poppies? Poppies? Still, you managed to evoke the memory.

I was remembering my Dad who went to Gallipoli, was severely wounded in France, spent a year in a UK hospital. He was more than 20 years older than mother, so that's how he got a much younger family.

Even flowers have expressions, like the red one drooping its head like in a prayer in the first shot. Full of emotions in these two shots, Greg. Thank you for remembering the fallen.

    Thankyou Paniaa and Izzie.

I didn't see poppies anywhere, Paniaa. I wonder if this is the wrong time of year for them (Autumn).

I think flowers are very expressive, Izzie. When they are in full bloom it's "look at me, I'm so pretty". Then when they are drooping it's 'poor me, my beauty has gone, my time is over'. I much prefer to shoot flowers in their waning stages because I find them much more interesting then.
