Miss Lady Bug

So I tried something a bit different. I used the background to work with the subject. I actually brought out some of the background to focus toward Miss Lady. I tried a lighter version (of the background) but then it just faded away too much. I think as Miss Lady has dark spots, it makes the background work better. Please comment, what do you all think? I tried to gracefully ask Miss Lady to turn around, but she was being stubborn.

Uhmmm...Your little should be more zoom to make good use of the extraenuous width of the background against her...She seems to be lost in it...go to the best zoom you can manage without me (us) seeing the pixels...then crop.

Yes, I thought of that as well, I actually like the background better than the subject I think, weird. I'll try that. So I cropped, leaving part of one branch in the background. Comments.

Getting better and better but now I think you have reached your goal. I think you are so right in thinking about the bakground aswell. Something that is forgotten too often. Nice colours and good lighting. But next time I would like to see the bug from the other side.

Ok....getting there, Bob R...if you can tell this Lady Bug to turn around, it would have been nice. As it is, my problem with looking at this is nearly solved. You see, I like the background, the composition is great and all that BUT one small tinnee weenie nit - - is there a chance for you to show a little bit of stem coming from the side of the frame where the leaves of the bug is hanging on for its dear life? It looks like the whole structure is floating in the air...creatively, it is beautiful...realistically there is a little life there...follow my line of thought?

Izzie, if you look at the first picture you can see the three stems, all going to one point behind Miss Lady, I guess that would actually be in front of Miss Lady. No way for a stem to the side. maybe next time she will turn around and give me her better side

Bob, the third crop works for me and in this situation I also like the 'light' background.

Nice work, Bob, the dof has produce a nice 3-D affect that is enhanced by the bright green bg.

I really like your lady bug in you last cropped edit.
If you wanted to add some stem/leaves to the left you could do in layers;
* select the leaves you want to add, make a copy layer, make it a transform then move it around and size it and angle it as you wish (see my rushed effort, not terribly fine tuned).
I am not saying this is better, not at all. I only suggest it as a possibility in answer to the earlier suggestion. But I can't turn the lady bug to face forward :-)

Denise, you are most correct, and you did a fine job at that and you gave it more space on the left as well, not bad for a "rushed effort". Nice job. I should have never said "no way for a stem to the side", it was an invitation wasn't it There isn't anything that can't be done, I even say this myself to other people. Thank you Denise, for reminding me.
