Hi David, a magnificent looking weevil ! These are really good subjects and I used to have a couple of these that would show up now and again but have not seen any for a while now.
Keep them coming, but don't forget to name them

Glad someone likes these insects. They are particularly distructive in the garden and difficult to get rid of. Nice image though.

Nice shot David - Thanks. I searched UK weevel. Seems we do have some and most aren't that harmful and found a ID site that is likely to be of use.
Interesting to see you used a 65mm FL lens even on full frame.

Cheers Grahame,this is the first one i have ever seen,unfortunately after two frames my flash clipped the branch and he fell into the undergrowth

Thanks John,its the MPE 65mm,it can go to 5x mag,but its manual only,i sometimes use it on my 7d also!
