Thank you David and John..I have not quite relinquished colour altogether ( at least not yet!) but I feel most at home exploring the 'uncomfortable.'

We are 'uncomfortably' with you Sharon!

Can I ask if this is a composite, or merely a manipulated original, if you know what I mean?

Is the individual on the 'path' coming away from the 'storm'?

Oh dear, much too inquisitive tonight..........

Hi Ian...not a composite, just some infrared ...it's a wee girl who was toddling along a reed bank ahead of me and I started to think about how different and more hostile the dimensions of the very usual stuff must seem to her...or could do under different circumstances.

That led me to thinking that we are all that wee girl...we know not what we are headed for.

You can never be too inquisitive.

Thank you Bruce and John for your comments...much appreciated.

I love everything about it. I don't/can't take that type of shot but I do appreciate it. The little girl, the curving path and the black and red giving a sinister tone. Excellent..!

    Worth a large print.

Strong, gothic, scary, creative...I am reading the last volume of Stephen King's Dark Tower and, somehow, it reminded me of Jake Chambers. I liked it! Well done...

This is a beautiful image Sharon. The shapes and colour gives it a very balanced composition and it definitely evokes a spooky mood.

Well it was only a matter of time before you returned to the dark side.
Interesting how one's perception can be swayed, sometimes by a title, sometimes by other circumstances: Richard (rcrowe) having just been through some severe and threatening wildfires out in Calif. immediately came to mind on opening your post. So now I have to deal with the image of a child walking into an area engulfed in wildfire.
But then an image should speak to the viewer, and the brain, in concert with the image are beyond local control.
I think I would be most disturbed were I to see a 'normal' image from you
