    Weathered Stump 2

Seems to me the at wood exposed to salt water grows more interesting fungi or algae than the rotting logs in the drier interior of BC. The lichen species seem to be the same but we never get these interesting blue colours.

I processed this a little more agressively in Viveza, as regards the saturation, structure and sharpening than is my usual wont. Any comment or criticism is welcome

Well spotted tbob, I do like this natural abstract. The whorls in the timber look like eyes (maybe a face or two if the image is rotated but...this iPad makes the rotation difficult &#128521 the little dash of red flower catches my eye and makes me look at the image in more detail IYSWIM

I like it Trevor. I'm still partial to color and will go as far as to say that I like it better than the B/W you posted. The larger version in the lightbox has to be viewed to appreciate this one. Well done.

    Re: Weathered Stump 2

I originally went out to get pictures of Blue Herons fishing in the shallows. I never got further than the stumps and one tree. Not a big problem as I enjoy not being tied to a goal when out shooting. However it was funny explaining it to my sister in law and my relatives later on. She was expecting some heron pictures and it became a source of humour that I was so addlepated that forget why I went out there.

I like the colour as well. it was initially attracted me to the stump. However the first image Weathered Stump was shot specifically to be done as monochrome as it was mainly about texture and shape.
