For me the sky did not compete with the buildings.

I was drawn to the "old look" and closeness of the buildings, typical Italy.

Very enjoyable! I like how the tree on the left anchors the shot and provides weight that sort of counterbalances the church tower. The sky also works well for me, providing enough detail to be interesting though not so much detail or contrast that it competes with the rest of the scene.

Hi Jordan, I find that the sky is OK but the buildings are a little darker than I would expect. A well balanced composition!
