Hi John... I prefer the Camera Raw B&W rendition, and I think the cloning out seems to work here. I would have wanted to see more information on the environment since this is a street shot. Any reason why you decided to crop the image? Cheers.

Thanks for the comments, I don't have an issue displaying an obvious street capture, I just wanted to see if another genre (portraiture) could be successfully trimmed from its original source.

Hi John I like these. IMo there is too much space above the woman's head in #2, so, I would crop the image from the top. And I find the reflections on the car and the tyre distracting. So, I would also crop the image from the bottom.

I thought about cropping these to keep with my theme of getting portraits out of street photography.

Thanks for the comments and critique. I was thinking of several crops for this as it is a bit chopped on both sides.

By the way, images: Stilts, The Eyes Have It, and The Look were shot with the Olympus EPL-1 micro 4/3rds in panorama mode/portrait format which is why there is so little space on the sides and the image appears elongated.

Hi John, sorry for being late , I was out for shooting yesterday evening and I wasn't online For your question , if you want to put the emphasis on the woman , I think it is better to crop; but if you want to put the emphasis on the event it might be better not to crop. So, I agree with you about trying some crops to see how it works.

BTW, what is the camera you mentioned is used for, shooting long ropes?

Not really for ropes , I like the 16:9 format especially for tall buildings.
