Great shots DavidIs it a weird posture in #3 or is this the way the insect stands usually ?
Hi David,
These are much better than my recent snaps.
Hi Binnur,
In #3, that's a common pose for them here.
Only the rear four legs down and the two fore legs (arms?) folded up behind the eyes - great design to be streamlined for flight!
Cheers,
Hi, David. All are very nice. I would be very proud of #2! Well done, my friend! Kindest regards,
Thank you Binnur, Dave answered your question better than i could lol![]()
Cheers Dave, yes they can be very tricky to shoot, and thank you for answering Binnur's question, which in turn educated myself as well!

Cheers Otavio, thank you for the kind comments mate, much appreciated!![]()
Great shots, David. Such happy smiley faces, that damselfly certainly looks glad to see you, especially in the first frame
Excellent photography David. I've just binned the shots I took yesterday afternoon. Poor relations to these.
Another great series David, you certainly nailed those eyes. We have a lot of very small ones around at the moment but so skittish.
Cheers,
Grahame
Cheers Greg, I think it was laughing at me as i had just chased it for 15mins![]()
Thank's John, there are a lot in my bin too!![]()
Beautiful! Really outstanding. My question: at 1/200, handheld?, monopod?, tripod?.
Cheers Grahame, much appreciated mate

Stunning and 'herself' in the first image I'm sure is saying 'Hi'…….
These are three beautiful shots, very nicely done.
Thank's Mark, handheld with diffused flash!
