    A few flying things

    I had a day out in a local nature reserve, well it was local this weekend as we were up in Lincoln, Whisby Nature Reserve in Lincolnshire, it was 'damp' so not a lot about but a few favourites were around if you looked hard enough
    A new tick for me a Brown Hawker

    A Comma Butterfly

    A Small Skipper on a Wolly Thistle

    Thanks John, Grahame, I was please with the comma shot, I got a couple with flat wings, fully open, but I too prefer the half open look

    Good series Mark. The small skipper is a catch. They are really small and never stop moving. Macro lens?

    Hi John, yep sigma 150 ex - still learning the balance between filling the frame and a shallow DoF or move back with greater DoF and crop but keeping quality in image this one was f8 1/500 at iso 320 and cropped.
