    Groundhopper

Another odd looking insect. Not totally sure about the identification because it is something which is new to me.

At the moment, I'm thinking about it being a Common Groundhopper (Tetrix undulata). About 8 mm in length.

You do have opportunities to discover the interesting and unusual life forms Geoff! It is fascinating how the head attaches to the body. Almost seems to be armor-plated! Any chance you could capture this one horizontally closer to its eye level?

Nice captures Geoff, looks like some kind of juvenile grasshopper, but your knowledge of these things is way greater than mine

That armour-head looks like it has antennas built-in those frog-like eyes....very sharp, Geoff. It is like positioning the darn thing under a microscope ready to magnify it more...(It is am...forgive me for being duffy this early yawning...)

Yes, it rather looks like an armour plated frog.

When I first saw it I had to stop and rub my eyes!
