John (2), this is just gorgeous! I'd like to be able to off some suggestion but it appears that you've pretty much nailed it. I dunno, maybe crop a bit off the bottom, so the land and the water on the bottom LHS start at a point

Nicely done. Great composition. In the large version the highlights on the foreground water seem a bit bright.

A very dramatic mood to this image John, just beautiful. Perfect timing with the light I'd say. Very nicely done.

Just to add my compliments to those above. Just the right amount of detail held on the land.

That's a magic capture John with that sky.

I would also agree that the water highlights in front of the lighthouse rock in line with the suns light are a bit bright. My thinking here is that that area of sea would be in shadow?

Now this is a top shelf image indeed. This is one of the landscape/scenic images that I really admire.
I feel I am there, watching the sunset. Admiring the lighthouse, I find myself wanting to put a jacket on, as I can 'feel' the cool evening air!
Sorry I'm waffling now, but this image articulates what I think & cannot express.
I'll be quiet now & just admire it some more.

    Re: Strumble Head Light 2

Thanks all for the comments and suggestions. I'm made up that it has had such a great response. Not sure about the crop Jack. I think the comp needs the weight at the base. The light area is a puzzle but it is as it was at the time. The only PP has been the addition of a gradient mask at the bottom to darken it and so it would have been brighter in the original. I can only think that it results from a reflection of the clouds. Thanks again.
