Just to put things into perspective, when I spent a year working in a wildlife reserve in southern Malawi I was getting at max a download speed of around 30kbs ! Could never go to this site or many others.

Oh shucks Dave"appalling" really? & I thought it was rather inspired, never fear plenty more groan inspiring gems yet to see the light if day...it does need to be election time for me to really be on top of my satirical game though

I reduce my images to 800 pixels across and then load them up on smugmug.com. The 800 pixel size happens to be the ideal size for uploading to several dog rescue sites. I upload to the rescue sites directly from my computer and don't use smugmug in the process...
This is a link to several the smugmug images that I uploaded to smugmug at 800 pixels wide...
They appear to have decent quality as viewed on my 27 inch monitor. Originally, I uploaded the images to smugmug using larger file sizes but, there doesn't seem to be a great difference between these 800 pixels wide images and those larger images. The good side is that they upload to smugmug.com far faster than do my larger files...
Those are very nice shots, Richard.......
