    Ottawa Busker Festival

I needed a break from the studio work, so I headed out to the Ottawa Busker Festival that is on this weekend. As is typical, the place was packed making getting a decent camera angle difficult. Here are a couple of acrobats using a trampoline as a springboard. The Canadian Parliament Buildings are my background.

And for those who think the spire needs to be removed, here is that version:

Nice capture, I like the edit which removed some of the odd background elements.

I agree with others that removing the spire was an improvement. Nice to get out and shoot something different isn't it?

Actually Dan, I do try to mix things up; primarily landscapes, city scenes and street photography (although honestly, I tend to do that more when I am on the road).

just had a hankering to tune up my lighting skills this weekend, and with no one around to disturb me I was able to spend a number of hours getting a few shots the way I wanted them lit.

Manfred, were you shooting with fill flash? The reason I asked is that the woman seems to have a slight double image (especially around her head and face), the kind that is formed when the photographer is using fill flash in the daylight at a relatively slow shutter speed.

I noticed it too, and no I was shooting existing light only. I thought I had set shutter speed to 1/1000th, but I must have nudged it down to 1/650 by accident, so all I can think is that that while I was waiting for a moment when the movements were close to stopped (i.e. the top of the lift), there must have been a tiny bit of motion around her head, because that is really the only place I noticed it.

I thought I might have made a mistake in one of my layers and nudged it a bit, but it's in the original image. Blown shot, but I didn't notice it until after posting.

I've noticed you shoot a variety of subject matter. Should have worded my comment more carefully. That's what I meant, you shoot a variety of stuff, nice to do so.
