    After the rain

We had thunders and showers 2-3 days ago, after it stopped raining I went out for shooting sunsets, but I listened to Colin's advise and carried on shooting some more although the sun dissappeared. Thanks Colin This is the result.

    C&C are appreciated as always

Binnur, excellent shot! I might crop about half of the water in the bottom of the image, to me then the sky becomes the more dynamic part of the view (which it clearly is.)

Lovely shot Binnur. Everything just works nicely. I think Jack might be onto something, a bit less water might be a crop worth considering, as you need some of it to help place the image, but other than that, it doesn't add anything to the composition.

The sunlight breaking through the clouds pulls our eyes into the image, and from there they move to the interesting cloud patterns.

    Wonderful!

I think the strongest argument for eliminating some of the water as suggested by Jack and Manfred is that the reflection in the water pulls our attention away from the subject; it draws our attention downward even though the subject of the image draws our attention upward.

    Re: After the rain

Thanks Jack, Manfred, Irene and Mike I'm glad that you liked the image. Here is the story about strong reflections ; while I was shooting , the street lamps came on and although they weren't very close, the light coming from the lamps effected the shot and the reflections became stronger. There were actually a little more yellows spreaded around but I cloned them out because I found them too much too. As Colin mentioned before, camere collects light from where ever it finds. I will keep this image as a part of my learning curve. It was very good practise for me. Thanks again for looking and commenting

Wow! What can be a better description of nature than by photographing it. This is an excellent example.

Nicely done, which elements appeal to you the most; the cloud formation, the fiery sky, or the reflective water?

Hi John Of course the sky and clouds appeal to me most. I explained why the reflections are so strong in post#7. It is because of the street lamps.

This is lovely Binnur - If you don't mind, what were your settings (exposure/aperture)?

11 mm cropped sensor, f/8, 30 sec, ISO 100 (but I think it would have been a longer exposure if the street lamps far behind me hadn't come on, my camera collected some light from them )

    Re: After the rain

Great capture Binnur, lovely moody sky.

With regard to the water the consensus appears to be to crop some of the water due to the reflection drawing our eye down but it may also be worth experimenting with darkening from the bottom reducing upwards with a gradient.
