    Hello from Texas

I've been a member here for a few months but never introduced myself. I'm new to photography although I've been color correcting and retouching other people's photography since 1998. My job title is graphic artist but I mainly do the retouching and color correction for an advertising agency here in Dallas, Tx. I'm currently shooting our companies portfolio pieces and have just begun shooting for recreation. One wedding and one set of prom pictures are under my belt. (turned out so-so).

Anyway, if you can disregard my vocabulary skills...pleased to meet you.

By the way, after looking at the July entries for the photo contest, I'm humbled to be amongst such talented photographers.

    Dave,

Nice belated introduction, what was the feedback from the two shoots?

The feedback was positive from the clients. I even thought they turned out good at the time, but after shooting more and learning more I realize I could of done allot better.

I'm getting there (in my humble opinion0, but I'm most comfortable just roaming the local woods looking for opportunities. At 47 years old, I'm finding myself more often with a camera in my hands rather than a rifle. Photo hunting is becoming a favorite pass time for me.

I think we all tend to scrutinize our earlier works with a fine tooth comb, I sometimes think that older photos are better enhanced as I learn more editing techniques.

Welcome, Dave. Considering where you're from you sound downright sholarly

Sounds like you jumped right in to serious work with wedding and prom photos. Both risky business. Yes you'll run across some darned good photos here on CIC. Then again even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then.

Don't you worry about your vocabulary skills, as you might have already found, thank God for the internet, you do not have to hear us all speak in their own English accent either. Keyboarding English is a much better alternative...
