Very good, brilliant contrast and rendition.

Hi Phil, I like it very much I wonder the opinions of more experienced people in CinC about the big dark part at the top of the frame. I hope someone will make a comment about it .

    Hi Binnur

I'm debating the crop to 7x5 or 8x10 but thought that the underside of the bridge mirrored the shadow of it on the road

This part, in my eye, is a nice graduation revealing that the walker is entering
a covered space. The walker should be consequently darker… but I think Phil did
the right dodging to solve that.

This is what I would say if I would qualify as "more experienced people"!

The top half of the man is awfully bright considering he's in the shadows! I'm just teasing. Nice shot, Phil!

Like everything, opinion will likely differ on this.

In this particular image I think the dark part at the top works very well. It provides a lid/cap on the image and emphasises the urban scene by enclosing the scene in a tight frame. It's not the edges of the picture that frame the scene, but the urban environment itself.

    Another wonderful bit of photography.

    Re: Park Street, Southwalk

I live just outside Northampton, but I've heard that some areas are quite exotic! I never did quite manage the shots I wanted. A few people who had access to good viewpoints weren't willing to share their access - a shame as I'd helped a few out in the past.

But they've been making some money out of it and have been quite protective. I'm now a lone wolf
