    Polychrome Overlook, Denali NP

I spent 10 days in Alaska this past August and got some of the most spectacular landscape and wildlife shots I have ever had the pleasure of capturing. With VERY LITTLE PP, here is what I consider my best shot since I've been doing photography (30+yrs). The weather was crappy all morning until about noon. Then, the clouds started to break up and the sun started poking through. This is about the best lighting conditions possible for some wide open areas of wilderness like this. We made a very quick stop but weren't allowed to get off our tour bus due to time constraints. This was taken out of the window on the opposite side of the bus I was sitting on. Feedback is welcome.

Brian, I really enjoyed each & every image! All are absolutely beautiful! Tough to choose, but my favorite is the very last one of the sunset.

Your images brought back beautiful memories, as my husband and I took an Alaskan trip, and saw many of these sights. We took the plane ride, as well as the train; but the train was between Anchorage & Fairbanks. It was our favorite, of our trip!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Thanks Carol. We traveled mostly by train, which is a great way to see Alaska. Our only link by bus was from Denali to Seward. The sunset was taken on our way from Seward to Anchorage on our last night in Alaska. I thought it was a spectacular way to end an awesome trip. My link is only a VERY SMALL fraction of the photos I took. 467 total shutter clicks in a 10 day span.

Thanks all. Dave, this, and a couple of others of different angles of this scene came out great. The only PP I did was to add some clarity, slight contrast and only a slight bump in exposure. The rest is basically "as is". After witnessing the scenery in Alaska, I'm thinking that almost anywhere else I go, will be a disappointment. My eyes are spoiled now. When I saw this sight, I had chills running through me. And, it wasn't because it was cold.

Brian, your excursion and the resulting pictures, spectacular as they are, gives an entirely new
    definition to "hog heaven".

Beautiful image. I adore the composition and the low lying cloud on the mountain peaks. The colours are especially wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

Considering the constraints this is excellent. Fabulous scenery as well.

Beautiful natural scene Brian helped by by that clean and clear air.

Having now looked at many of the others on the link just how do you go about picking a favourite from them?

That would be the $64k question. That's why I selected all of those as my favorites out of the almost 500 I have to choose from. Thanks to all for the gracious comments.

Really beautiful scenes you caught up there! I liked how you caught some of the animals with plenty of scenery around them, not what you usually see with wildlife, but it's cool to see them in native surroundings. The snowy mountains were wonderful.
