    Birds and Flowers

I just took delivery of a new lens, the AF-S Nikkor 80-400mm 1:4.5-5.6G ED. I have been watching prices for a while. I discovered that Buydig.com was selling it refurbished for $1999.00, that is $700.00 less than a new lens. All of my equipment I bought as refurbished by Nikon so there were no second thoughts about the purchase. Yesterday morning I went out to see if it was a keeper or one to return. The day was overcast, rain predicted later in the day. The birds were few but I managed to find a couple worth shooting. These images are the result. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

You are going the distance with clarity and that's the end result I would like.

Pity about the pale grey sky against a white bird; but not really a serious problem. Everything sharp and well exposed.

White bird against a grey sky looks like a pretty demanding test for the lens, Joe, and that first shot has plenty of detail in it.

Based upon what we are seeing, the lens is working quite well, but...what are you seeing at 1-200%?
The guy behind the camera seems to have done a really good job.
