Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

It is an image of Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's house), New Delhi, India.

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition and processing.

Nice shot Raj - I love the look of the dark almost menacing sky. The architecture is gorgeous too and I like your crop. Leaving a bit of wall along the bottom edge of the image adds a definite boundary to the building. I think the square crop works well, although there is just a touch too much sky for my taste.

You seem to have gone for a dark and moody look here, but in doing so, some of the fine details of the building that is not being hit by the sunlight are a bit more subdued to the point where they get lost. I would be tempted to burn in some of the building details just to bring them out a bit more.

This is sort of what I was thinking about:



I wonder if I might see it myself later on this week when we spend a couple of days in Delhi. The location does not look to far from where we will be staying.

Raj, the sky is great, don't touch it. I do believe that Manfred went a tad too far and lost some of the
three dimensionality present in yours. I might have selected the architecture and judicially used Shadows&Highlights.

Yes really, but just for a few days (arriving late on Thursday evening and flying out to Paro in Bhutan on Sunday afternoon). We're going to be staying near Connaught Place and are planning to poke around a bit, just to get over the jetlag.

It seems we will be in Delhi on four different occasions over the next 2 months, but not spending much time there. It seems to be the main transportation crossroads to the places we are travelling to.

This would be my take on it. All done in the PS Camera Raw filter

Top left lightened very slightly to balance with top right. (Grad filter +30 on Shadows)

Grill work in dark windows lightened. (Adjustment brush +45 on Shadows)

Then whole image given +18 lift on the Shadow slider as well.

(Sorry about the recompression artifacts, that's because I was working from your PNG.)

I too like the sky as in original - as the spire points to a place in the light which completes the statement.
