Convert Word Document or PDF to JPEG

In doing my recent calendar, I had a need to convert a Word Document to a JPEG since that is the only format that the software would accept. I tried using a PDF file with no luck and I just couldn't get my brain around converting the Word or PDF document into a JPEG...

Hi Richard, I have done this before. I think what I did was to import the document into Powerpoint (if you have it), and then saved it as a jpg file. You might find that you need to tidy up the document slightly once it is in Powerpoint depending on how it was constructed in the first place but that's easy enough.

    Richard,

you will find online converters if you google "convert word to jpeg" or suchlike. They are free and self-explaining, most very easy to use, just see which one suits you best. I had the same problem recently as my Powerpoint presentation wouldn't accept PDFs.

Richard - If you download LibreOffice (free - www.libreoffice.org/ ) you can just it it to simply convert documants to pdf and it does a good job - you also get a great piece of software at no cost !

I do it reasonably often by just opening the PDF with Photoshop and then saving as jpeg.

If you need just a block of text, you can copy it with the native Windows Snipping Tool (enter snip into the windows search to find it) and then save the clip as a jpg

I usually 'copy' just about anything by using the screen capture keystrokes (shift-PrtScn) and then pasting into anything that can put out a JPEG. I favor FastStone Viewer: ctrl-N then ctrl-V gets you the review image up almost instantly for cropping and saving.

(Windows XP, btw, don't know if it works on later OS's).

    For example:

The advantage of the snipping tool over teh old windows screen capture is that you get only the portion you want. I don't think it is present before Windows 7

And maybe it lets you snip more than what's on-screen (auto-scrolling) ?

PicPick http://www.picpick.org/en/ (free) has a scrolling option which can save whole pages. Works in Word and Adobe Reader (and IE), so might help.
