First ever encounter with a real pig

I recently read an article in a photography magazine that explained how to photograph pigs. When I read it I thought ''how bizarre'' how many people come into contact with pigs in thier daily life. Well, this week I drove past a farm with pigs in the field so I could not resist this opportunity. All c&c grateully received.

What did it say? I know, from growing up in a farming community, that farmers have very definite ideas about how champion show cattle should be photographed (front hooves slightly higher than back, etc) in order to show them off at their very best. Not sure how you'd go about photographing pigs.

I wonder if petting zoos count. Nice effort.

Donald, the article was more piglet portraits, I just found it a strange subject to cover, kittens and puppies I could understand.

Interesting shots Gerry. I like the second one - wish the pig on the right of the frame (all you see is the pig's behind) wasn't there.

Hi Kim, cropped and improved at the time of shooting I was more interested in the large pig in the background getting closer!

David I see Gerry has already eaten two of them while doing the crop which is a good improvement.
