    Wet

While shooting this image, I nearly damaged my new camera because of the splashing water drops onto my camera and lens. I got a warning message on my LCD screen saying that there was an error in the connection between the camera and lens and it continued when I tried shooting again at home. Fortunatelly , I was able to shoot the next day without any problems. So please be careful while shooting near running water or in the rain

    C&C are appreciated as always

Interesting perspective in this shot Binnur; I like it. The leaves are in focus and so is the background. That is not necessarily the most "common" treatment of that type of scene and it works very well.

On the other hand, it is definitely not worth ruining your camera over. Electronics and optics don't like water, and I've had seals fail in a weather resistant camera body, so I tend to be very careful anytime I could get these components wet.

    Completely agreed.

My only misgiving is that I want to see a different balance between the foreground leaves and the background by seeing what is higher in the scene than displayed here. I imagine that area wasn't very appealing, which would of course explain why you didn't include it.

Nice shot. Interesting viewpoint showing the leaves in their 'environment' and nice angle of view, excellent depth of field and a good difference in colour between foreground and background. The only thing missing for me is some separation between foreground and background. I'm kind of missing a focus, obviously it's the leaves but the background is making its presence felt a bit too much and possibly needs darkening down. Personally I think it sort of lacks a bit of atmosphere, everything else is there in spades. I would either have taken the background down in post processing or if I'd thought about it when I pressed the shutter (not likely) I would have underexposed the whole thing and lit the leaves with an off camera flash or taken two exposures. Either way thoughtfully shot and a nice image.
Water and electronics just don't play nicely together. Apparently the advice is to switch off and let the camera dry out naturally for a few days hoping that the drying process leaves no residue on the electronics. Alternatively you can get something like a raincoat for your camera (or so I've heard).

Thank you Manfred, I'm glad that you liked the perspective in the image I really like trying different angles with my wide angle lens, it gives interesting compositions.

There weren't many water drops on my camera and lens and I kept wiping them while shooting . But as you say electronics and optics really hate water

Hi Mike , I'm glad that you liked it And you are right about the higher area in the scene , it is not appealing . But there is a small waterfall on the left side of the scene and I have shots with leaves on the ground and the whole waterfall. Today I bought Nik Software and I'm planning to edit some of those shots with PS + Nik. I will upload them too , if I can manage to use the Nik Software properly.

    Re: Wet

Thanks for looking and commenting Paul. As you say colors make the seperation between the FG and the BG. Indeed this is a wet scene of the environment as my title and my full focus indicate. Your suggestion about darkening the BG is a good idea but then I would have to change my title as 'leaves'. I will certainly try some shots considering your suggestion in the future though

PS. I will inquire about the raincoat, thanks!

    Re: Wet

This is a pleasing, colorful image but I'd also agree with Mike. I've tried several such low perspective type shots and haven't really done one (that I can remember) that I am pleased with yet.

As far as the moisture... It's a bit overkill but I've used one of those cheap plastic ponchos. Neck of the poncho on the lens hood. Depending which way the wind is blowing I might reach into the bottom of the poncho or I might leave it hanging down the back of the camera and reach in through the arm openings. I can't bring myself to pay the prices they want for the ones designed for cameras.

Thanks for looking and commenting Terri I will keep in mind the idea of poncho, it might work well especially when not shooting very close to the ground level.

Very colourful and good composition. Wish the falls were a bit wider.

    Hi Binnur,

Very creative, and gorgeous colours - as always!

I was recently out photographing birds in heavy rain for about 4 hours. I purchased a plastic rain cover which covered my camera and my lens (with a lens hood attached), and I didn't experience any problems. That said I was very careful with my camera placing it under extra cover (rain jacket/sheltered trees) whenever I wasn't shooting images.

    Re: Wet

Thank you very much Haseeb There is a small waterfall on the left of the scene and that one flows a bit stronger. I have some shots of it and I will upload one of them after editing. But because we have in autumn now , the waterfalls in that area are a bit poor really and they will be more powerfull after winter because of the heavy rain and some snow on the mountains.

Thank you Christina, I'm glad that you liked the image Thanks also very much for letting me know about the plastic rain cover. I really have to do something about it after my bad experience

I like your use of complimentary colours in this composition, Binnur. In fact, even though you have an s-curve leading the eye through the scene I think the colours are the subject of this photo. I would suggest cropping most of the background - perhaps down to the first tier of the wall. Or, if you want to keep the waterfall, try darkening the wall and adding a little bit of blur to the wall and waterfall area.

    Re: Wet

Hi Greg, thanks for looking and commenting IMO cropping or darkening the wall spoils the image , because the composition is about the whole scene. But I think a very slight vignette would fix the issue. I made some rough trials with a vignette just a few minutes ago and I think it works fine. Because it is late here and I'm a bit sleepy I don't think I can make a proper edit right now but I will certainly give it a go tomorrow and I will uploadit if it is worth.
