Amaryllis can be grown outdoors year round in warmer climes. Frank, depending on how south he lives, can grow outside, but the bulbs are tender. I grow my plants indoors, but during the summer, they live outside or in the sunroom. To compound the whole thing, some bulbs like to "rest" from September/October before being "forced", while other Amaryllis prefer to be evergreen.
Got it? LOLs. Don't worry. In 2010, I started with one amaryllis (Aphroditie) that i got from Walmart.
