    I do like this John, something not quite right for me though but I can't put my finger on it.

    Maybe, the leaf seems a little bit bright compared to the canal?

    It has got a lot of potential though.

    Great lighting. Both strong lights and rich darks. You had an artistic eye for spotting this. For some reason I feel that the leaves should be over to the right corner instead of the left .Why would that matter though ????

    Thanks all for the responses.

    @Matt - I can see what you mean. It looks brighter on the forum than on my screen (has been commented on before) but I have compensated, reposted and I prefer it.
    @Nick - Again I can see how that might work but unusually for me, this is almost straight out of the camera and so a different crop isn't possible.

    John I like the simplicity of this composition. And good lighting on the leaf like as if you shown a flashlight on it...No nit, just commenting.
