Well spotted, Jack.
Thanks Greg.
Nicely captured.
Thanks John.
Do you have flash? It's an interesting subject and the colours are good. But if you shot it on manual and stopped down the exposure for the background (which is very bright) and then relied on a small amount of flash (doesn't need much) to illuminate the leaf you would get a much better exposure balance. As it is, my eye is drawn to the back of the image which is the brightest area. Flash can make an incredible difference to your shots when used correctly.
Sometimes when I see a leaf like this just hanging on for its life, I wonder ... do they have feelings of being old and forgotten even by the wind and just fall off and die? I am blabbering Jack...ignore me. But I like the shot, it evokes memory of sitting down in my deck and looking all around there while I wait for the dogs to finish their short duties...
I like the tired look of leaf with nice colors
Nice capture Jack!
Rob, just the on board flash. Valuable advice and much appreciated.
Izzie, lol I think they just fall off and die. On the other hand, as the leaf decomposes into the surrounding soil it provides nutrients to the mother tree. Circle of life and all that.
Thanks Binnur.
Thanks David.
Well, there's only one reply to that! Or are you Nikon?
LOL great idea, I'm Nikon. Very generous of you to offer
Oh! Then you need the Nikon version. I'll just post my paypal password, shall I?
Rob that would be great! If it wouldn't be a bother there's a lens I'd like to get too.
Everyone is on their honor not to use Rob's paypal password!
OK, I promise not to treat myself to a Canon SX60HS at Rob's expense
