    Wishing a white Christmas

Belated due an absence of the white part. It amuses me that Hawaii had more snow on Christmas than Minnesota

I saw it in the news too, this morning and I cannot help but laugh at it...we will be having our snow from this coming Tuesday --compliments of the Canadians...We had a semi-Hawaiian Christmas weather, warm.

Anyway, glad you caught one at your area. We have lots waiting for the snow to come...awwww........he is pretty...

Pretty cool, Randy...I love cardinals, the bird I mean...and this one is a good shot of it.

Nice captures. I was envisioning a shot of a cardinal on some branches in the snow for this season, but I didn't get one, and couldn't have on Christmas cause it wasn't snowy! So you took these in Hawaii?

Great capture, Randy. Why is it that birds in a tree almost never face the photographer?

Thank you all for your kind replies.

For Christmas, I used my bonus to buy a Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 tripod, going for the aluminum model left me enough cash to also pick up a macro rail. These shots were my test shots. All that is necessary now is enrollment in weight training classes to be able to carry it in the field. The tripod is most definitely more stable than my previous tripod and I love the fact that I need not crouch to shoot. The real test will be the truly long distance shots of nesting Bald Eagles next Spring.

Nick- I wish I was in Hawaii, I got 5" last night......sending it your way

Frank- I have noted the same perverted phenomenon, in this case he was without a doubt preparing to move to a position where a twig would grow out of his forehead
