Re: Another day, another sunrise
Looks good to me. Exposure just right and a composition that takes my view around in a circle, with interesting things to notice all the way.

Re: Another day, another sunrise
Neville, great shot, I can practically hear the waves lapping onshore. Just one minor suggestion; very near the horizon on the LHS is what looks like a buoy. I noticed it when I tried to brush off what I thought was dust on my screen. Otherwise very very nice.

Re: Another day, another sunrise
Thank you Geoff, Jack, Binnur and John. The harbour at sunrise is a really nice place to hang out while the rest of the local population are trying to come to terms with the need to extract themselves from their beds.
Sorry about the buoy Jack. This illuminated buoy is the only navigational aid to guide small fishing and leisure craft into the small harbour at Courtown after dark and I could not bring myself to cloning it out. I have an inbuilt paranoia of dust bunnies and, consequently, screen specks, so I sympathise. Many thanks all for your generous comments.

Re: Another day, another sunrise
Beautiful sunrise over the Irish Sea!
Here on the California west coast, there are very few places to capture a sunrise over a body of water as grand as the Irish Sea.
However, certain times of the year, a sun rise over the Pacific Ocean can be captured at Point Mugu State Park, Malibu; at the Channel Islands (of course); at Catalina Island; at a point at Garrapata State Park, Carmel; and there must be an eastward-facing point on the Marin coast somewhere. Hmmm ... someone should make a list. There's an app for that: The Photographer's Ephemeris

Re: Another day, another sunrise
Thank you Izzie, Brian and Geri For your comments.
For those who may be interested this image, made with my Nikon Df and 24-120 VR f4, is partly HDR. The dynamic range of the scene is beyond the scope of the excellent Nikon Df sensor, even shooting RAW. So, with the camera set for matrix metering, a second exposure was made at -3 EV using bracketing. Using CS6 the first exposure was balanced up for what I wanted apart from the sun and the area immediately surrounding it which was burnt out beyond ACR adjustments. The corresponding small area was copied and pasted from the second (-3EV) file and balanced and feathered to blend in. For this type of image I prefer this method to 'normal' HDR processing.
This is the original main image file with the pasted layer showing before it is moved into place. Some lens flare in the bottom right section needed correction also.
And this once again is the finished image (with lens flare corrected also).
Hope some find this helpful.
