    Sable in the Sand

Hello all! Every now and then I like to go through some old photos and look to re-edit some of them. This time I found one from last year.
This Sable Antelope was lying in the sand and I thought this could make for an interesting edit so I tried out something new and I am pretty happy with what came out, let me know what you think!

Strong composition, monochrome treatment makes for an otherworldly image.

Interesting set of tones you chose for this rendition. It gives the feel of lots of bright sunshine and dryness and heat.

Nice capture, but who is Tobias Weber...didn't you take the photo yourself or is it from that guy?

Thanks guys, that is pretty much what I was aiming for while editing.

@Izzie, im not sure if that's meant to be a joke but if you look at my name you will see that I am Tobias.

Sorry Toby...I am sure the gremlins were at work here in CiC when I looked at your post...it was a beautiful shot as John (Shadowman) said up there, but I really saw the name of Beth (cuillin) there including her avatar and not your details at the left hand side, that was why I asked who Tobias Weber is...That was really strange because I always make sure I look at who was posting EVERYTIME!...I saw her name instead of yours...

That aside, I really like this photograph. It is not exactly B/W and the eyes of the beast needs a bit of PP to show more and I like the smile on its face...composition is great too...

Nice shot, Toby. This subject and the way you have processed recalls the colonialist period for me.

Creatively, expressively done, and I appreciate the bravery involved in posting this type of work.

One sort of image that makes my visits here enjoyable and educational is exemplified by efforts such as this to express beyond fidelity and towards impression and feeling. This goes well beyond the merely documentary to create something much more interesting artistically and in some ways perhaps more informative about the subject.
