    Lubbock's Ring Billed Gulls

    I photograph these guys every year after telling myself over and over again that gull pictures have been done to death.

    I just can't help myself, if for other reason, because after 14 years it is still mind boggling to me that there is a breed of seagull that is a year round resident this far from any salt water.

    I would still shoot gulls sometime when I see them. You got some nice positions flying and standing.

    I like sea gulls although some of them can be nasty. You have bigger sea gulls here in the US compared to the sea gulls in Australia though... You got all good shots of your subjects here..

    Gulls keep changing. The light and the angles give limitless possibilities and you can also capture some of their mannerisms; they all seem to have different temperaments.

    And in many cases, they are far more approachable than a lot of other birds.

    I do agree with you. They are approachable and I do have fun shooting them. I always get concerned that folks may get tired of seeing pictures of the.
