Rosy Pelican Fine Art - C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

Recently m trying my hands in fine art with Wildlife. So, i tried to capture Rosy Pelican in flight with slow shutter. (handheld)

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, frame, crops and processing.

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended)

    Hi Raj,

More of an abstract if anything. Nicely presented.

I'm a fan of blur, Raj; I often try my hand at ICM, blending multiple exposures, and applying various types of blur in photoshop to achieve the impression I want.

I think this is good concept, but this example doesn't quite work for me. I think the blurred background in this shot is in conflict with the subject. The bird is soft and graceful, but the lines in the background are hard and sharp. A slow exposure pan might not be the best way to achieve the affect you want with a fast-moving pelican. An alternative might be to shoot a burst and then combine and blend the different frames in post.

I think I would try raising the whites in the bird's feathers to give it a bit more pop.

Thanks a lot for your valuable review and suggestion. I got your point, will try to reshoot it soon without panning Really Appreciated What if i darken the lines in the background?

I like the concept and but I think the main issue is the upbeat of the wings which mask the bird
I think if you could time your shot for the time the bird glides between flaps might enhance the image IMHO
