Amaryllis beginning to open
This one was tough. I wanted the anthers before they folded back on themselves, but at that point, the flower is mostly not open, which makes lighting really tough. Anyway, C&C welcome. Best in lightbox

Yes, quite stunning in Lightbox. The yellow and brilliant red are a striking combination. I particularly like how the fuzzy texture of the pollen compliments the softer look of the flower interior.

I love this shot, Dan...who'd think you are into flowers too? Yes, viewing in lytebox makes a lot of difference - you can really see the texture of the petals. I wish I have some amaryllis too but I already have a lot of orchids in the house...no room...no matter how beautiful they are.

Re: Amaryllis beginning to open
Thanks, Suzan and Izzie. We've had record-breaking snowfalls over the past two weeks, so I have mostly had to photograph whatever is here, and that is two amaryllis plants, as they gradually open. Working on a few others now.

Re: Amaryllis beginning to open
Good one Dan, so much scope with one flower. The lighting is fine, detail throughout and no harsh shadows.
